Flange construction for terrace drainage

In plumbing there are many different pipe cross-sections and countless reducers to make sewer pipes compatible in cross-section.

If you have decided on a special drainage system that is not available in a hardware store, you have to find the right adapters so that you can continue working with the technology from the hardware store when draining the collected water. Unfortunately, the reducers often do not fit together exactly. Minimal deviations are enough for a pipe to not fit on an adapter or to be too loose.

This project was about making a drainage connection smaller so that a conventional drainage system from the OBI could be connected.

To do this, we cut out thin rings from acrylic for a pipe connector, glued them together and used them to fill the area between the drain and the pipe that was too large. We permanently connected all individual parts with special adhesive.

Technical parameters for engraving acrylic

Material: acrylic
Performance: 60%
Speed: 80%
Frequency: 25KHz
Passages: 20
Focus shift: 0
Air cooling: yes
Mode: Cutout
Laser: CO2 40W
Resolution: 500 DPI
Font:-
Duration 192 seconds

Notes:
Cutting out acrylic requires 100% energy. In addition, various tests have shown that the highest possible resolution and slow engraving ensure better edges.

The reflections from the cutting table are somewhat problematic, which lead to a pattern on the back of the acrylic. As long as you only use it on one side, you don't have to worry.
