thermos flask engraving

An interesting project from the neighborhood. A local fistball club needed 15 thermos flasks, each of which was to be provided with the logo and a unique number.

Culinaris supplied the thermos flasks and brought us in as engravers. Since the flasks were already engraved with the Culinaris company logo, the biggest challenge was to achieve the same style and look with the engravings we created.

Technical parameters for engraving a thermos flask (painted)

Material: Culinario Tea Bottle (thermo flask)
Power: 60%
Speed: 80%
Frequency: 25 khz
Passes: 1
Focus shift: 0
Air cooling: 0
Mode: Raster
Laser: CO2 40W
Resolution: 1000 DPI
Font: Logo
Duration: 301 seconds

Notes:
The thermos flask is made of double-walled stainless steel, which has a thin lacquer coating on the outside. Engraving with a CO2 laser removes the lacquer layer and exposes the stainless steel surface underneath.

In our case, it took two passes to remove the lacquer down to the stainless steel. At the same time, the second laser pass changes the stainless steel surface. To ensure that it has the same color as the existing Culinaris logo, we ran a series of tests with different resolutions and finally decided on 1000 DPI.
