FAQ

Leather - Can you engrave leather?

The answer is very clear:
Yes, you can engrave leather.

However, our experiments brought 2 findings.

1. Leather doesn't smell very good after engraving. It's nice when you can duct the exhaust air directly to the outside by means of ventilation. The leather should be left uncovered overnight afterwards.

2. The area between which the engraving does not appear or burns immediately is not very large.

Technical parameters of leather engraving

Material: Leather
Color: brown
Power: 10%, 15%, 20%, 30%
Speed: 50%
Frequency: 25KHz
Passes: 1
Focus shift: 0
Air cooling: 0
Mode: Grid
Laser: CO2 40W
Resolution: 400DPI
Duration: 4 seconds

Hints:
The technical parameters of leather engraving depend a little on the type of leather and the intended result.
The higher the energy, the slower the engraving, the higher the resolution, the darker the engraving. The dark part is the ash that the laser leaves behind. This has the disadvantage that the ash lies on top and can be easily smeared, which can adversely affect the quality of the article.
